Okinawa International Movie Festival

“JIMOT CM COMPETITION” is a project that we ask for submissions from anyone regardless of age, gender, professional or amateur, for CM ideas with the theme of the “hometown” that you can feel the love for it, to create a CM to appeal the charm of your hometown using the comedians from the local community based on the ideas with strong love for the hometown.

The best CM will win the award of 470,000 yen and be guaranteed to have the CM on air on the regular broadcasting. Whoever with love for the hometown can enter and the best CM winner will be announced at the stage of Okinawa International Movie Festival.
This is the 2nd time for this competition, and we had 900 applications, twice as many as last time. We selected 90 ideas after reviewing the applications, and the comedians who are the part of “I’ll Live in Your Town Project” of Yoshimoto Kogyo visited applicants to record the comments of enthusiasm for this project. These 90 video comments have been uploaded on the official website since January 26, 2012 for the public voting, and we have selected 10 CMs for actual shootings.

In addition, two new categories, “Yoshimoto Aozora Kagetsu Category” and “International Category” are launched this year.
Yoshimoto Aozora Kagetsu has started by 3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival. As a compilation of it, we make CM s with elementary schools in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima.  As we launch the International Category, we make CMs in China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.

How to Enter

1. Express love for your hometown on the idea sheet.
2. Those of who express the ideas that most strongly evoke hometown love will be notified by the Okinawa International Movie Festival Executive Committee and will discuss about shooting a video letter that expresses the charm of their hometown. (There are two ways to shoot the video letter; OIMF staffs come to applicants’ hometowns for shooting or applicants shoot the video letter by themselves)
3. The video letters will be uploaded on the OIMF official website, and voted online by visitors. Those of who get high reputation will be nominated to the contest.
   OIMF works with nominees to create a CM. (OIMF will provide nominees with helps: ensuring casts, providing shooting equipments).
4. Those of who create commercial will be invited to the OIMF that will be held from March 24th to 31st
